OUR RUBY ANNIVERSARY

This year, the Rainbow Centre will mark 40 years of supporting the most vulnerable in our community.

Thanks to your support, we have been able to reach out and help thousands of individuals and families over the years.

We are deeply grateful for your contribution!

Our Story & Challenge

Having started with the Family Contact Centre in Mundella School in 1985 and now offering several services—a Foodbank, FoodStop, Food Pantry, Money Advice, Shop, Winter Shelter, and a Homeless Support Service—is truly a remarkable achievement.

We cannot celebrate because we know our services are needed more than ever.  The work we started forty years ago continues.  Therefore, to mark our fortieth year, we want to raise awareness of all the Rainbow Centre does. That is why today I am writing to ask you to join us in raising awareness of our charity and fundraising to continue supporting those in need. Below, you will find the first of our spring events for your consideration.

Your stories and photos could inspire others to join our cause. Tell us how you got on by sharing your fundraising activities and tagging us on Facebook or Instagram.

There are plenty of opportunities throughout the year to join the Rainbow Centre family and have fun while raising much-needed funds. And if you have more ideas, the more the merrier, please do share them with us. As always, I am hoping for your participation to make our anniversary events a great success; your involvement would be much appreciated.

On behalf of the Rainbow Centre Trustees, I thank you for your unwavering support. We look forward to seeing you during this 40th anniversary and marking our achievements together.

Spring Events

40 days of Lent: 4th March to 17th April

As it is our 40th anniversary, we thought we would take time during Lent to be grateful and reflect on how far our charity has come. There is so much to be thankful for.

To help you embark on this reflective time, we have created a menu of reflections and activities to focus your thinking on the 40 days of Lent. It contains readings, prayer topics, and practical actions that can be done individually or collectively. Some of them may make great shared church and neighbour activities, such as a pancake breakfast—could this be a fundraiser for the Rainbow Centre?

To see the attached sheet for more information click here and feel free to pick and choose or invent your own activities. We would love to hear how you get on. Feel free to share this with your church, friends, and on social media.

Annual Knit-In Fundraiser: 30th April

The popular Annual Knit-In Fundraiser is back! Last year’s event was a great success, and this year, we hope to make it bigger and better than ever. You are warmly invited to enter a team of six knitters, each willing to knit for approximately one and a half hours. If you do not have a team, contact us, and we will make sure you are put into one.

Contact Sara Adams on 07745 247102 to join the event or email sara.adams@ntlworld.com.

40 Challenges

We have created 40 Challenges that individuals or the whole family can take part in. Could you or someone you know participate in one or more of the challenges? Why not adapt one of these, or make up your own?
